Music & Movement Program
Join us each fortnight for a new discovery through the Emali Music & Movement program.

Feel the rhythm of learning and growth!
Music & Movement at Emali is a well-loved extra-curricular program provided to children at all Emali centres, fully inclusive as part of enrolment.
The program is a fun learning experience, catering to the unique developmental milestones of each age group, while also teaching children about different cultures through music, movement and dance. Through music and movement, children build their confidence, social skills, a sense of belonging, creativity and physical wellbeing, preparing them for success in life.
Offered exclusively at Emali Early Learning Centres, this ensures a higher frequency of classes, while adding value and convenience for families with classes being provided in-house during attendance hours.
Reach developmental milestones by having fun!
Emali’s Music & Movement program is coordinated and taught by Diploma qualified Educator and dance teacher, Princess Jordan. Each lesson is planned and designed to be fun while aligning with the Early Years Learning Framework, supporting the development of children’s gross & fine motor skills, confidence and ability to regulate and express themselves.

Emali music & movement for babies

Introduction to language
Through song and storytelling, babies are introduced to the basics of language and speech. By listening and observing, babies begin to absorb the way we communicate, developing their cognitive function and eventual ability as they begin to transition from making sounds to learning and using words.
Introduction to their bodies & self awareness
Babies are just beginning to become familiar with their hands, feet, arms and legs, how to move and use their muscles to do different things like reach, hold, push and pull.
Sensory experiences for cognitive and motor development
In these early stages, stimulating sensory activities promotes brain development fundamental to building future skills, such as language, social, creativity skills and more.Learn more about sensory experiences for babies here.
Emali music & movement for toddlers
Development of language & communication
Toddlers thrive on repetition, and music is a powerful tool for reinforcing early language development. Through songs with simple lyrics, rhythm, and actions, children begin to recognise sounds, build vocabulary, and link words with movement and meaning. This playful exposure helps toddlers make meaningful connections between speech and communication.

Strengthening Physical Development & Wellbeing
With growing bodies come bigger movements! Music & Movement sessions encourage toddlers to jump, spin, march, clap, and move their bodies in different ways. These activities support both fine and gross motor development as they build muscle and further understand how their bodies move through space—an important part of developing coordination and balance.

Building confidence, creativity and wellbeing with self-expression
Music offers a joyful space where toddlers can express themselves freely through movement, sound, and imaginative play. This builds a strong sense of identity and agency both independently and in group activities. Whether they’re moving with scarves, tapping to a beat, or inventing their own dance, toddlers are developing creative thinking and learning to explore their ideas and make choices with confidence.
Introducing Social Awareness & A Sense Of Belonging
While toddlers are still learning how to engage with others, music sessions gently introduce social skills such as taking turns, listening, observing others and copying actions, and working as part of a group. These early social interactions help toddlers begin to understand empathy, collaboration, turn-taking and a shared sense of fun.
Emali music & movement for preschool children:
School ready program
This program helps to establish healthy physical capabilities and habits which further support children as they prepare and begin their journey at school. Having experienced the Emali Music & Movement program, children have an understanding about how to follow instruction, what their skillset is, to have confidence to try new things and much more, making the transition into school smooth and fulfilling for the child.
Social development
Music is a universal way to communicate, tell stories and learn. Participating in music & movement program in a group setting allows children to interact with each other, build rapport, and share experiences as they build friendships and create memories together. Children develop a sense of belonging that extends beyond the class, preparing them for everything the world has to offer in life.

Increased challenges, Healthy Risk Taking & Building Resilience
As children continue to practice their skills, raising the level of difficulty, performing in front of peers and stepping out of their comfort zone in a supportive space can be a satisfying opportunity for further development and building self-confidence. Not only does this keep children interested, it also allows them to learn to take manageable risks and understand their own capabilities, further expanding their skills and self-confidence in a safe environment.
