What is ‘play-based learning’?

Through play, children learn and develop cognitive and problem solving skills, language skills, literacy skills, physical abilities & spatial awareness, risk taking skills, social and negotiation skills, emotional skills and more.
Emali educators maximise opportunities for learning, by taking a holistic approach and pulling theory from all learning philosophies to set up guided experiences. The experiences children participate in are underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and help build their skills and support them to reach developmental milestones.

What is the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)?

The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is a national curriculum framework which ensures quality and consistency in the delivery of early childhood education programs. It sets the standard that all early years providers must meet to ensure children are safe, healthy, learn and develop well. The framework has been designed to ensure children have the knowledge and skills they need to start school.
